MacroTracker ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

1. Information We Collect

• Email address — collected when you log in via OTP. Used solely to identify your account and sync your data across devices.
• Nutrition data — meals, food items, macros, water intake, and daily logs you enter into the app. Stored on our server to enable cloud sync.
• Profile data — optional information such as name, age, weight, height, and activity level. Used only to provide personalised AI responses inside the app.
• AI conversation history — messages exchanged with Milo (the in-app AI assistant). Stored on our server (up to the last 100 messages) to provide continuity between sessions.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you via one-time password (OTP) login
• To sync your nutrition data across devices
• To provide personalised responses from the Milo AI assistant
• To allow you to review your historical nutrition logs

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

• OpenAI — your AI chat messages are sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses. OpenAI's Privacy Policy applies to this data.
• USDA FoodData Central — food search queries are sent to the USDA public API. No personal data is included in these requests.
• MongoDB Atlas — your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas (cloud database). Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. AI conversation history can be cleared at any time from within the app.

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored — we use OTP-based passwordless authentication. Your data is stored in an encrypted MongoDB Atlas cluster.

6. Children's Privacy

MacroTracker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data
